Yes, you will need a passport to enter Costa Rica. North Americans do not require a visa to enter the country. For other nationalities please refer to your government’s information.

We’ll have 5 days and nights of shows from our incredible lineup of talent! During the day, you’ll be able to experience everything Costa Rica has to offer including a catamaran day at sea, waterfall hike, beach day with surf lessons, guided jungle hikes, and lounging by the waterfall-view infinity pool. All activities are included in this all-inclusive euphoric “Trip” of a lifetime. You can view the amenities of our venue here.

Endless summer! The average high for the end of November and early December is 82°F with a low of 70°F. You’ll be comfortable in shorts during the day, and we recommend bringing a warmer layer for the evenings. We are in the tropics, so there is always the chance of a light rain shower at some point during the day.

Costa Rica is a small Spanish-speaking country located in Central America, between Nicaragua and Panama. It is known for having the highest standard of living in Central America, and has a reputation for peace, incredible nature, and happy people.

Costa Ricans, or Ticos as they call themselves, are very friendly and polite. It’s a great place to practice your Spanish, and a “por favor” or “gracias” can go a long way. Don’t know where to start? You can never go wrong with “pura vida”. It means “pure life” and is the de facto motto of Costa Rica. It can be used in place of hello and goodbye, as a thank you, and also in response to “how are you”.

Costa Rica is close to the equator, so make sure to use sunscreen and a hat. Some bug spray for the evenings wouldn’t hurt either. Costa Rica uses the same plugs as North America so you don’t need to bring an adaptor for your electronics. The tap water is also safe and drinkable across the country.

There are no mask requirements or COVID requirements.

We strongly recommend travel insurance for Jungle Shakedown guests. Vajra Jahra and Shakedown Festival aren’t responsible for those that do not carry the insurance suggested. As a minimum, this insurance should include:

  • Emergency evacuation expenses
  • Medical expenses
  • Repatriation expenses
  • Cancellation or curtailment of trip
  • Damage/theft/loss of personal luggage, money and goods

Vajra Jahra is built into the hillside and stairs are required to reach the common area from the villas. Unfortunately we’re unable to recommend Jungle Shakedown for those with limited mobility at this time.

The dress code is informal. We encourage you to bring lightweight, casual clothing, sunscreen, insect repellent, a bathing suit and sturdy sneakers and/or hiking boots for activities. We recommend bringing a sweater for cooler evening temperatures and a light rain jacket just in case. Please also remember to bring all personal toiletries and medicines. The venue is not within walking distance to any shops.

Tipping is not expected but always appreciated. You may leave your tip in the envelope in your room or with the manager at the end of your stay. Please specify if the tip is for a specific person, or for the entire team.

Villas can be paid via bank or wire transfer. Please reach out to the team for more information at costaricashakedown@gmail.com

You can also purchase villas directly on our website via PayPal using credit card. Please select November 29th-December 4th on the calendar to see availability.

Yes! We are happy to offer customized travel planning services for anyone looking to extend their Costa Rica experience before or after the festival. Send us an email at costaricashakedown@gmail.com for more info.
